Register today and take advantage of the early bird rate (deadline extended to April 13)
Although it doesn’t quite feel like it here in Baltimore, spring is here! And that means that in just a few shorts weeks, MedBiquitous will host our 2018 Annual Conference, designed to bring you and your colleagues together for a few days of education, exploration and networking. The event will be held May 21-22, 2018, at The Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in Baltimore.
If you have not yet registered for this event, we’ve got some good news for you! It’s not too late to take advantage of our “early bird” registration rate. We’ve extended the deadline for this discounted offer, but only through April 13. That said, don’t delay! The time to register is NOW!
Here at MedBiquitous, we work diligently all year long to plan a conference agenda that will be informative and interesting and will allow you to take practical ideas and solutions back to your respective organizations. This year is no exception! We will kick things off with welcoming remarks from Roy Ziegelstein, chairman of the MedBiquitous Board of Directors and Vice Dean for Education at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. Peter Greene, our Executive Director, will address the continued steps we are taking to build an infrastructure for continuous improvement, and David Cook, Professor of Medicine and Medical Education at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine, will speak to the role of electronic tools to support point-of-care learning, continuous professional development and maintenance of certification.
The rest of our time on Monday morning will be devoted to Speedy Standards Stories, back by popular demand from our 2017 annual conference. You can take part in a number of discussions centered around topics that are most relevant to your work or your organization’s priorities – from implementing virtual scenarios to flipped classroom strategies to longitudinal assessment across multiple competency domains (and so much more). After lunch, we will offer a series of innovation demonstrations on topics ranging from automated categorization of curriculum content to simulated EHR cases, mobile virtual tutors, and more. And you’ll have some time for networking with your industry colleagues. Day number one will close with dinner at McCormick and Schmick’s, located on the waterfront of Baltimore’s Inner Harbor (included in your registration fee).
The second day of our event will continue with sessions focused on competencies and curriculum development, analytics, feedback and improvement, and virtual patients and simulation, first thing in the morning. Those sessions will be followed by facilitated discussions on the role of standards in an artificial intelligence driven world, and processes for supporting clinical decision support development and maintenance. We will wrap things up on Tuesday afternoon with a series of workshops, providing insights on how to design effective digital instruction on a budget, updates on data visualization for education design and assessment, guidance for moving to a continuous learning / teaching environment, and process tips for implementing new standards.
